ProShieldTM 5000 D laundry additive offers a patented, EPA registered technology for inhibiting the growth of a wide array of bacteria, mold, mildew, algae, fungi, and yeast on textile materials. Unlike conventional antibacterial agents that leach from the surface and into the environment, ProShieldTM 5000 D produces a durable, biostatic finish that provides a physical piercing of the microbes’ cell walls.

Conventional antibacterial agents work like poisons, leaching into microorganisms and disrupting one or more of their vital functions. The problems with this mechanism are (1) chemical poisons can be quickly exhausted or wear off from the surface being protected, thus requiring regular reapplications and (2) hardier microbes that survive can mutate and flourish, even in the presence of these poisons. Since ProShieldTM 5000 D physically ruptures the cell walls of these microbes, there are no poisons to be exhausted and no “superbugs” to be created.

Antimicrobial Laundry Protocol
Run a complete wash cycle, including final rinse and extraction. Start a new cycle and fill the machine with hot water (120°F). Add 6% on weight of goods(6 lbs. of ProShieldTM 5000 D to 100 lbs. of laundry). Run for 20 minutes at 120°F to exhaust the ProShieldTM 5000 D. Drop the bath without rinsing, extract, unload goods and dry as usual.
