Bactronix of the Grand Strand helps keep dangerous indoor mold, mildew and air pollutants from affecting patients in health care facilities and medical offices in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Conway and surrounding coastal communities. Call us at 843-282-7777 for your office’s mold test.
It is important to control moisture and relative humidity in health care facilities and medical offices. The presence of moisture and dirt can cause molds and other biological contaminants to thrive. Relative humidity levels that are too high can contribute to the growth and spread of unhealthy biological pollutants, as can failure to dry water-damaged materials promptly (usually within 24 hours) or to properly maintain equipment with water reservoirs or drain pans (e.g., humidifiers, refrigerators and ventilation equipment).
Controlling other pollutant pathways. Pollutants can spread throughout a building by moving through stairwells, elevator shafts, wall spaces and utility chases. Special ventilation or other control measures may be needed for some sources.
Office buildings, schools, and other nonindustrial buildings may develop moisture and dampness problems from roof and window leaks, high indoor humidity, and flooding events, among other things. “Xampness” is the presence of unwanted and excessive moisture in buildings This can lead to the growth of mold, fungi, and bacteria; the release of volatile organic compounds; and the breakdown of building materials. We use the term “mold” for a group of fungi that are common on wet materials.
Different mold species can adapt to different moisture conditions. Research studies have shown that exposures to building dampness and mold have been associated with respiratory symptoms, asthma, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, rhinosinusitis, bronchitis, and respiratory infections. Individuals with asthma or hypersensitivity pneumonitis may be at risk for progression to more severe disease if the relationship between illness and exposure to the damp building is not recognized and exposures continue.
We think it’s imperative that everyone is safe from mold and the viruses they can cause, which is why we offer mold testing. Bactronix utilizes a non-invasive, safe, quick detection process that is friendly for pets and people. Our state of the art detection technology is used throughout the food and beverage industries, health care and pharmaceutical industries, hospitals, restaurants, supermarkets and other facilities where rapid detection of contamination is critical.
